I run bookable events, with set dates every few months for you to come on your own or with friends. See the shop for available dates.
I can arrive with meats of your choosing to cook on your grills to show you how to get the most out of them
I can bring one or two of my big Somerset Grills to you to show you how to use them and cook a real feast.
Meats: Learn how to cook any meat you want, beef, chicken, lamb, pork, fish or even game.
Smoking: If you want to learn how to smoke meat then let me show you how easy it can be to achieve stunning results
Techniques: Learn about direct and indirect cooking, what fuels to use and how best to use them
Sauces: Learn to make your favourite sauces: BBQ, Chimichurri, Ketchup, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mango Habanero Sauce
Rubs: Learn what goes best with different meats
I'm based in Bristol but i'm more than happy to travel the UK to come to you. I usually would include milage in the cost at 45p per mile.

All payments taken in advance to Hunter Gatherer Cooking Ltd via shop or bank transfer
If we are relying on the weather then we can look to rebook should it be raining, usually we will know this roughly a week in advance (if the weather forecast is correct). If you have shelter to cook under then this won't be a problem.
Meat is purchased 24 hours before the day. Cancellations within this period will not be eligible for a full refund.
We aim to have a great day, there are no silly questions and no-one will judge you
Our day with Alex was brilliant. Now that we have a better understanding of the different fuels and how to regulate the temperature for different styles of cooking, we feel inspired and more confident to cook on the coal/wood BBQ. Cooking “dirty” was a game changer - our gas BBQ has definitely been relegated to 2nd place now, we haven’t used it once!

An incredible day! The food was superb! Alex has not only taught me how to cook with charcoal and smoke but has completely changed my bbq/cooking approach!
